There is excellent driving on the Parkway, as you can imagine, in your car or on your motorcycle. It doesn’t get much better than this.
Heading North to Boone, you will travel thru the most photographed section of the Blue Ridge Parkway—the Lincove Viaduct. This was the last link to be completed on the Blue Ridge. A story all by itself.
You are about 20 miles from Boone on the parkway at this point. The area contains several hiking trails with very special ones at Linville Falls to the South about 10 miles. And at the top of Grandfather Mountain, there is a very high trail at almost 6,000 ft.
The area offers a lot to see and do in the summer and a wonderful ski season with no less than four ski resorts within 20 miles—the closest being Sugar Mountain.
